**INTERNAL/EXTERNAL JOB POSTING**

**Summer Intern - Program Assistant/Temporary (2 pos.)**

30 hours per week Monday to Friday

The Caledon Meals on Wheels Program Assistant will support the planning and implementation and evaluation of program and service activities for Older Adults/ Seniors in Caledon, Brampton, and Orangeville during the months of June, July and August and requires travel throughout Caledon, Orangeville, and surrounding area.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist with the planning, implementing, facilitating and evaluation of CMOW programs and services including Seniors Social & Wellness programs, Hot and Frozen Meals on Wheels program, Friendly Visiting Program & Special Events.
- Conduct outreach in seniors’ buildings and within the community to encourage participation in Caledon Meals on Wheels (CMOW) programs and services.
- Support all aspects of the administration for the program (eg. intake, collection of statistics, monies, and program reports) on a weekly basis.
- Collaborate with CMOW program staff, volunteers, community partners when planning and implementing program activities.
- Answer the telephone, direct calls; takes and relay messages; provide information and referral for CMOW clients and outside inquiries.
- Ensure that program activities operate within the policies and procedures of the organization.
- Attend CMOW live and virtual events/meetings as required.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Preferred Experience and Qualifications**
- Must meet qualifications set out by Canada Summer Jobs 2023
- Interest in learning more about planning and implementing of programs for Seniors/ Older Adults
- Ability to work with computers including Windows, MS Office, etc.
- Experience working with culturally diverse communities is an asset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated enthusiasm and creativity.
- Experience with preparing and giving presentations, leading group activities.
- Due to the geography and the lack of public transit in Caledon daily use of a car is necessary/required.
- Criminal reference/vulnerability sector check will be required, and any cost will be reimbursed.

**For some positions**:

- Experience in the sports field or passionate about healthy living and physical fitness. i.e.: participating in fitness classes or gym workouts would be an asset.
- Some food safety, food preparation and nutrition knowledge may be helpful.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Internship / Co-op
Contract length: 10 weeks

**Salary**: $17.56 per hour
