**CONTRIBUTING TO THE CMPA**

In collaboration with all CMPA departments, the Strategy & Program Management department leads a number of enterprise management processes. The core functions include strategic planning and strategic issues analysis, business planning and performance management, business intelligence, enterprise risk management, market intelligence and research, as well as change enablement and evaluation.

The Business Intelligence (BI) team oversees infrastructure that supports the data analysis and data management of CMPA business information. The team maintains an enterprise data warehouse that provides historical, current, as well as predictive views of business operations. The team services all internal users with traditional report development and distribution, complex custom ad-hoc information requests, and supports the needs of other analytics teams by providing and regularly updating data subsets.

**POSITION OVERVIEW**

The Strategy & Program Management department is responsible for leading activities related to the data management strategy including coordinating and facilitating the activities of internal working groups. The Student, Business Intelligence will focus primarily on the analysis of CMPA’s information needs and the tools and technology to address those needs in support of the data management strategy and related strategic imperatives.

**POSITION ACTIVITIES**
- Research, gather, and compile information on a wide range of data management issues
- Assist in the preparation of briefing documents and presentations to support the work of internal working groups
- Assist in developing data flow diagrams and data models
- Support the Business Intelligence team with data quality and exploration initiatives
- Update training and reference materials
- Conduct market research for potential replacement or acquisition of software and present findings
- Support data management strategy initiatives

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
- Completion of 2nd year of a related bachelor’s degree program
- Specialization related to Business Administration, Digital Transformation, Business Intelligence or Analytics preferred
- Hands-on data management system experience preferred
- Hands-on SQL and database management system (DBMS) experience preferred

**SKILLS AND ABILITIES**
- Mature perspective on information systems, database management, and information management.
- Attention to detail and strong analytical thinking skills
- Ability to understand business processes and how technology supports business processes
- Strong English written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team with technical and non-technical people
- Ability to learn fast on the job and achieve objectives while still learning
- Experience with information systems an asset (example: Cognos)
- This position is fully remote
