**Enter the Game**
Activate is a technology company known for creating Canada's first full-scale interactive gaming experience. We are looking to expand our Information Technology team with the addition of a Director of IT. This position is responsible for overseeing the digital and physical infrastructure at Activate, including software development, cybersecurity, and Technical Support functions. In this role, the Director will assess and determine business requirements for systems and teams, manage the design and implementation of IT infrastructure, provide process and guidance for software development practices, and eliminate information technology security risks. This is a full-time, permanent position.
**The Duties and Responsibilities:
- People Leadership_
- Hire and organize training for all departments within the IT team
- Coach, lead and collaborate with various departments including Software Development and IT Infrastructure
- Develop the people infrastructure for IT to support the international and Canadian store growth
- Ensure leaders are conducting checkpoints and performance assessments, as well as create development plans for direct reports
- Security, Technology and Process Leadership_
- Develop and implement business continuity protocols to minimize disruption to business operations in the event of emergency situations or data loss
- Establish efficiency and efficacy standards, providing recommendations for improvement of IT infrastructure
- Review analysis of IT infrastructure and system performance to assess operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements, and other metrics and needs
- Oversee security of systems, networks, and enterprise information
- Facilitate IT security audits or investigations
- Develop and maintain relationships with external IT vendors and service providers
- Software Development_
- Lead software development projects through agile leadership methods to prioritize customer excellence during gameplay and adhere to development standards
- Lead development, prioritization and implementation processes for the organization’s IT systems and departments
- Build and manage relationships with clients, vendors and business units
**The Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
- Sound understanding of computer systems, networks, security, telecommunications, databases and storage systems
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to lead a project and see it through to completion
- Proficiency in an assortment of technologies, including MySql, PHP Laravel & Forge, Node.JS, Docker, Windows and/or Linux
- Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (SES, S3, etc.)
- Related bachelor’s degree
- 7+ years w/Sr. Leadership
