**Organizational Summary**

The Pacific Salmon Foundation (PSF) is salmon first, salmon always. We harness the passion and power of people to save and restore Pacific salmon in B.C. and the Yukon. And, we never go it alone, working with Indigenous partners, streamkeepers, government agencies and fellow ENGO’s, the PSF undertakes research, restoration initiatives and leadership in convening all those willing to help recover Pacific salmon. As People for Salmon, we’re here to help ensure sustainable populations of Pacific salmon for generations to come.

**Position Overview**

The Grants Coordinator (GC) assists with the delivery of the Community Salmon Program and other funding and public-facing initiatives. This is an on-going full-time position preferably based out of the Vancouver office with occasional travel throughout BC required.

**Roles and Responsibilities**

The Grants Coordinator’s key responsibilities include:

- Reviewing grant proposal documents to assess the quality and suitability of proposed projects.
- Working with applicants and project partners to ensure grant proposals reflect sound science, traditional ecological knowledge, and have support of government agencies or other partners as needed;
- Preparing detailed technical project analyses and providing informed recommendations;
- Providing ongoing information and assistance to PSF project proponents;
- Ongoing monitoring and closing of projects that have received funding;
- Organizing and participating in internal and external meetings and project site visits;
- Assisting management and the communications team in developing outputs for annual reports, funder reports, communications, board materials, media releases and other relevant documents;
- Developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external individuals and groups as needed;
- Identifying current needs and trends for restoration within the salmon conservation realm;
- Contributing to overall program design and ongoing improvements to the granting process;
- Participating in working groups within philanthropy and salmon related issues;
- Remaining current with matters and issues in the salmon restoration field and its associated political landscape;
- Other duties as required.

**Reporting and Supervision**

The Grants Coordinator reports to the Director, Grants and Community Programs and is responsible for undertaking all work identified by the Director and meeting or exceeding the standard of care set by the Director.

**Qualifications**
- A Bachelor’s degree and minimum 1-2 years’ experience in natural resource management (aquatic science, conservation, or similar) and stewardship support initiatives, or a; Diploma in Natural Resource Management plus three years of fisheries/stewardship/project management experience;
- Experience with fisheries restoration and enhancement project development and implementation or equivalent;
- Demonstrated ability to technically evaluate project proposals, or equivalent;
- Demonstrated understanding of current trends within the field of salmon conservation;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

**Mentoring and Development**

The PSF is committed to life-long learning for all team members. Ongoing mentoring will be available to facilitate the GC’s career development and appropriate training and skill-building opportunities will be provided. Educational opportunities will be encouraged.

**Compensation**

The compensation range for this role is between $60,000-$65,000 per year.

PSF offers a generous benefits package including paid time off, a group pension plan with 4% matching contribution, extended health and dental care, life, and disability insurance.

**Location**

This role is hybrid with a combination of in-office and remote work. Travel will be required to participate in in-person meetings, workshops, and staff gatherings.
