NorQuesters are difference makers and we’re searching for someone dedicated to finding ways forward to join our Faculty of Skills and Foundational Learning (FSFL) team as a Business Strategy Consultant.

Business Strategy Consultant, FSFL reports to the Dean, FSFL and is the strategic position accountable for implementing and supporting specified initiatives of the FSFL Strategic Operational Plan. Initiatives range from designing conceptual frameworks, following up on external relationships and partnerships initiated by the Dean, supporting FSFL management with strategic initiatives that cut across the various portfolios in FSFL, and identifying areas of potential growth and further development in FSFL. This position works independently.

This position will support innovation and growth in FSFL across multiple portfolios and enhance the Academic Plan and ultimately the College Strategic Plan. This position works closely with the Dean, Vice Dean, FSFL Academic Program Managers, FSFL Business Planning Manager and FSFL Business Operations Manager. This position ensures FSFL strategic initiatives, particularly those that involve external relations, are supported.

**HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE**
- Lead the implementation of specified initiatives in the Dean’s office that cut across multiple portfolios in FSFL.
- Provide timely information and updates to FSFL team members at all levels in relation to the specified initiatives being implemented and executed upon.
- Communication, supporting processes and determining outcomes may all be a part of this role.
- Positioning FSFL programming and offerings in ways that are current in relation to demographic shifts in Canada requires identifying systemic gaps and opportunities for meeting the needs particularly of historically marginalized populations.
- Work with FSFL management to help determine priority areas for growth and innovation in FSFL.
- Evaluate and assess strategic opportunities with recommendations for action to the Dean’s Office.
- Keep abreast of programs and projects happening at a municipal, provincial, and national level in the field of foundational learning, skills development, and settlement and language.
- Evaluate the impact of specified strategic initiatives implemented in FSFL in ways that inform the FSFL strategic operational plan, College Strategic Plan as well as the Academic Plan.
- Prepare reports on specified FSFL strategy initiatives for the purposes of sharing information and for decision making. These reports may be for both internal and external readers.
- Provide leadership in knowledge of foundational learner demography in urban, rural, and small community centers, language and settlement sector, service quality and business plan actions.
- Participate in business planning and setting operational goals/measures for FSFL portfolios.
- Participate in FSFL leadership meetings and model leadership principles, EDI practices and learning.
- Have working knowledge of other major college initiatives to work collaboratively and avoid redundancy.

**WHAT YOU BRING**
- University graduation, preferably in education, social sciences, or other humanities related discipline. A combination of education and experience may be considered in the case of an undergraduate.
- Significant related experience in a post-secondary institution preferred.
- Experience in working with historically marginalized and equity seeking populations.
- Solid knowledge of foundational programming as well as of the language and settlement sector in Alberta.

**SALARY**:$3,350- $4,188 biweekly ($87,095- $108,899 annually)** **reflective upon what you bring AKA your education and experience. This is a term position until March 31, 2025, with immediate access to our great benefit program.
