GF Piping Systems is part of the Georg Fischer team, a market leader in providing innovative and sustainable piping solutions to customers in a multitude of industries (natural gas, water treatment, chemical processing, food and beverage, microelectronics, life sciences and mining). Georg Fischer was founded almost 220 years ago in Switzerland and has been present in the Canadian market for just over 12 years.

We are currently looking for a **Quality Control Technician** for our site **in Vaughan, Ontario.**

**Summary**:
The **Quality Control Technician** will be responsible for ensuring that a product or service meets established quality standards according to GF standards. This position reports directly to the Quality, Environment, Health, and Safety Specialist.

**Tasks**:

- Inspecting and testing different Piping Systems;
- Inspecting output using industry-appropriate methods, such as comparing to standards, measuring dimensions and examining functionality;
- Reviewing blueprints and specifications to compare to produced goods;
- Recording inspection results by completing reports, inputting data into quality database;
- Monitoring the use of equipment to ensure it is safe and discard any that do not meet requirements;
- Keeping measurement equipment operating accurately by following calibration, requirements and calling for repairs;
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings;
- Reading of test methods and inspection plans;
- Using gauges such as calipers and micrometers to measure products;
- Determining the causes of product defects and reworks;
- Verifying all equipment is calibrated correctly;
- Recommending any necessary adjustments and changes to production processes;
- Accepting or rejecting finished products and discussing inspection results with the production team;
- Proposing improvements to the production process.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree or other relevant experience and/or training;
- 3 to 5 years' experience in quality control and OEM Fabrication;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Very high level of attention to details;
- Technical skills and ability to read and understand blueprints, documents and manuals;
- Knowledge of basic math and computer skills (Microsoft office Suite);
- Knowledge of SAP Software (an asset);
- Ability to influence others to follow rules and regulations;
- Strong Verbal and written communication skills in English;
- Ability to lift up to 30-35 pounds, occasionally;
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
