COMPANY DESCRIPTION
Established in 1979, Toro Aluminum has become a leader in the development and manufacturing of window walls and doors for high-rise condominiums, office buildings and hotels, across Canada, the United States, and Mexico.
REPORTING
The Quality Technician reports to the Quality Manager of Protemp. He or she is responsible for managing the operations and quality of the department, focusing on continuous improvement of product and service quality.
**Afternoon Shift**: Mon-Thursday 4:00pm-2:30am
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Support operational functions. Achieve best practice environments via heightened process control, standards, and communication. Focus on improvement from sustainable solutions and systems.
- Participate in external audits
- Perform regular process and product audits
- Participate in product testing
- Prepare and control QMS documentation (instructions, alerts, procedures, etc.)
- Schedule and lead corrective actions; maintain task momentum and own outcomes
- Analyze/report data and trending
- Provide customer and technical support
- Develop and implement short
- and long-term solutions to operational deficiencies and opportunities
- Maintain communication boards/tools
- Assist in the training and educating of team members
- Communicate and track of Quality related issues
- Perform internal calibrations, arrange external calibrations
- Attend production meetings
- Any other duties assigned by management

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- 2-3 years Quality experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment certified to national/international standards (e.g. ISO, TS, etc.)
- Experience with common manufacturing philosophies/tools (Lean, 5S, 8D, SPC, PPAP, FMEA)
- Internal auditor certification preferred
- Experience with inspection equipment and tools (e.g. calipers, micrometers, etc.)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong level of responsibility and drive
- Strong customer service skills
- Very strong written/verbal communication and Microsoft Office skills
- Very strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- College/university education preferred
