**Manager, Annual Giving**:
**PRIMARY PURPOSE**:
**NATURE OF WORK**:
The Manager, Annual Giving plays a lead role in designing and implementing giving programs that bridge stakeholders with the USask experience. Strategic, analytical and collaborative, the Manager brings a fresh perspective by creating data-driven strategies and promoting teamwork to design innovative and actionable plans that engage the community while clearly and consistently encouraging annual giving.

The Manager will be responsible for implementing strategies that retain, upgrade and acquire new annual donors to the university, and manages the Digital Fundraising Specialist who contributes to this shared goal.

Organized, detail-oriented, and proficient in the analysis of data, the Manager will have a demonstrated record of success in designing and executing successful giving programs that increase constituent participation and philanthropic contributions.

University Relations is responsible for institutional advancement programs (which include Fundraising, Alumni Engagement and Operations and Services), and as such is dedicated to supporting the related needs of all colleges, units and the university as a whole.

**ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- Design a multi-channel direct response program to acquire, re-activate, retain, and upgrade annual donors with an emphasis on growing alumni participation;
- Use data and secondary research to identify segments of donors that would benefit from customized annual giving strategies (i.e., campus community members, donors who give more than $1000 annually);
- Collaborate on marketing and communications strategies to support annual campaigns, ensuring high-quality design and production of USask fundraising materials;
- Select and manage vendors and external contracts for direct response programs;
- Liaise with Operations and Services systems teams to define and plan data segments for each appeal to ensure personalized communications are reflected on the constituent record within the CRM database;
- Identify donors who would benefit from personal cultivation by leadership, major gift or planned giving colleagues;
- Evaluate, report, research and monitor performance indicators (including average gift size, donor retention, acquisition, and upgrades, and return on investment) of annual giving campaigns, ensuring timely sharing of information and adjusting strategies and tactics to ensure achievement of revenue and participation goals;
- Facilitate the development of automated metric reports to track team success toward strategic goals and KPIs and inform future strategies;
- Develop and oversee implementation of recognition and stewardship initiatives for annual donors;
- Leverage and align with the university’s alumni engagement strategies to build base and loyalty of alumni donors;
- Manage campaign budgets as well as forecast, project and analyze revenue streams;
- Stay abreast of industry standards, trends, technology and best practices and provide recommendations for new annual giving initiatives;
- Ensure compliance with relevant university policies as well as CRA and FOIP guidelines and regulations; and
- Participate in University Relations and Advancement team training, meetings, planning and other activities that contribute to achieving university-wide goals.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Education**: Bachelor’s degree and/or appropriate combination of education and experience. Professional CFRE certification would be considered an asset.

**Experience**:Five to seven years fundraising experience at a nonprofit or large charitable organization, preferably in a post-secondary or similarly complex environment.
