**Position Summary**:
Reporting to the Director, Airline Relations and Development, this position builds and strengthens air services, while developing and implementing strategies to support Toronto Pearson’s growth. The incumbent will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and success of our airport by leading air service development activities that enhance our connectivity, expand cargo business development opportunities, and cultivating relationships with incumbent and prospective airlines.
**Key Accountabilities**:
- Connect various pieces of data and analysis to drive insights and find opportunities
- Lead collaborative team efforts to analyze and evaluate market opportunities best aligned to GTAA’s Air Service Development Strategy and Long Term Investments in Facilities & Terminals (LIFT)
- Lead a variety of targeted research and data analysis initiatives supporting our LIFT priorities and objectives
- Deliver the business planning, strategic selling and relationship management activities for Toronto Pearson to air carriers and associated partners to drive passenger growth, expand cargo business activities and increase that bring positive outcomes to customer experience and operational efficiency
- Supporting the development of business cases and presenting comprehensive and compelling proposals to air carriers for new, expanded or at risk carriers
- Collaborating with broader team to design and prepare reports and other analyses of market conditions and other metrics to create and implement actionable recommendations to improve traffic and financial results
- Drive and implement initiatives with local, provincial and national tourism organizations to advance Toronto Pearson’s goals through mutually beneficial initiatives focused increasing passenger volume and cargo activity
- Understand and interpret route performance by staying informed of service changes by incumbent carriers
- Track and record any company goal and progress updates associated with air service activities
- Transition significant passenger and/or flight activity changes (new or expanded routes/air carriers) to the wider Toronto Pearson team for operational and communication teams for integration
- Lead internal department communication with respect to service development and investment initiatives; communicate new services and upcoming market investment initiatives if applicable to wider team
- Engage with various internal and external partners to deliver investment for the benefit of supporting Toronto Pearson’s air service growth priorities
- Drive strategic clarity by helping direct reports and broader Commercial team understand how the work supports the overall vision
- Improve and innovate by listening to ideas and empowering decision making capabilities
- Influence by helping people navigate the organization to remove obstacles, barriers and create collaboration opportunities
- Lead people by providing coaching, guidance and provide feedback
**Qualifications**:
- Post-Secondary degree in Business or Marketing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3-5 years experience in business development or strategy
- 3+ years of experience in People Management (direct report or multi-functional)
- Thrive both in collaborative team environments and working independently
- Demonstrated ability and drive to produce high-impact results
- Able to obtain and retain a Transportation Security Clearance at the designated level for the position
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:
- Partnership focused, ability to maximize relationships for mutual benefit
- Strategic approach, creative appetite, and ability to implement market awareness programs
- Healthy understanding and interest in the aviation industry
- Resourceful, self-motivated and strong communicator; solid team player
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite, with a history of data management
- Strong people management skills
