**Credit Risk Analyst**

As an independent officer of the second line of defense from the Risk Management department, Credit Risk Analyst will report to the Manager, Credit Risk with regards to Shinhan Bank Canada’s Credit Risk Management function and other ancillary credit risk management functions within the organization. S/He will act as a champion and challenger, guiding business partners/first line of defense in implementing credit risk management practices and supporting the Risk Management Department’s overall mandate.
- Analyzes case specific data and information to provide risk-related insights and recommendations for new loan originated by the Bank; also for specific cases within assigned portfolio;
- Highlights significant information including variances in financial performance, trends, gaps for the assigned portfolio and escalates as required
- Conducts Quality Assurance Review of the assigned portfolio in a satisfactory manner as per the Bank’s guidelines;
- Conducts Loan Review of the assigned portfolio in a satisfactory manner as per the Loan Policies of the Bank;
- Monitors the portfolio on ongoing basis in addition to annual reviews & quality assurance checks;
- Presents findings and analysis results to the Manager and the CRO as needed and as applicable as per policies;
- Prepares specific and ad-hoc portfolio reports for the senior management & other stakeholders from time to time;
- Tracks and executes remediation plan for identified gaps in the loan portfolio;
- Shares feedback for process & policy improvement based on ground level observations;
- Keeps working files up to date and current at all times;
- Ensures follow up with first line of defense and closure of key items/observations in a timely manner;
- Deals with internal & external auditors and to arrange case specific data, information, folders in time bound and quality manner;
- Addresses auditor’s and examiner’s queries & observations in a satisfactory manner;
- Ensures adherence to the Bank policies and regulatory guidelines;
- Identifies and escalates gaps in overall compliance (of the assigned portfolio) with the policies & guidelines and suggests remediation plan for such gaps;
- Strives to enhance risk culture with first line of defense through healthy inter-personal discussions;
- Prepares, suggests, assists and develops relevant training material for first line of defense of the Bank as required;
- Supports interpretation of internal and external policies and regulatory requirements relevant to the analytics mandate;
- Assists in performing risk analytics and modeling, including developing scenarios and assumptions;
- Assists in reviewing and validating the internal rating models and risk components including, PD, LGD and internal credit ratings.

**Educational Requirements**

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or risk management-related required

**Work experience Requirements**

3-5 years of experiences in financial service industry is considered an asset

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $58,000.00-$66,000.00 per year
