**What can I expect to do in this role?**: In this position, you will provide traffic engineering analysis support by:

- reviewing and providing recommendations for specific projects in areas such as pre-contract engineering/construction, traffic operations/analysis, traffic signals, planning and data collection/management
- working with internal and external partners to conduct traffic operation studies, investigations, projects, data collection and analysis
- providing technical input to resolve safety and operational issues on the highway/road networks
- provide technical expertise in several areas including capacity analysis, collision analysis, roadside hazards, traffic control signals and intersection operations
- conduct on-site investigations to assess traffic operations

**How do I qualify?**:
**Mandatory**:
**Traffic Engineering Knowledge**:

- You have knowledge of transportation planning, engineering and technology (e.g., traffic characteristics, products, devices, management strategies, highway design, intelligent transportation systems and construction/maintenance practices) to conduct reviews, investigations, related to traffic operational issues.
- You have knowledge of traffic data collection, processing and projection techniques.

**Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills**:

- You have excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to collect and analyse data and good judgment when assessing alternatives and developing solutions
- You are able to interpret and relate engineering plans and drawings to driver behaviour and traffic operations.

**Communication, Interpersonal and Organizational Skills**:

- You have well developed communication, interpersonal and judgment skills to work tactfully with clients
- You can work in a team environment to establish and maintain good working relationships
- You are able to organize, prioritize and manage diverse projects and assignments under stressful and/or controversial situations and tight time constraints
