**Golf Course Maintenance Staff**

**Job Purpose**

The Golf Course Maintenance Staff ensures Monte Vista’s golf course grounds are functionally and aesthetically sound. The Golf Course Maintenance Staff maintains the golf course fairways, tees, greens bunkers, and any other grounds work as required.

The ideal Groundskeeper is punctual, hard-working, meticulous, and has an attention to detail.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Mowing fairways, tees and greens
- Raking and maintaining of bunkers
- Preparing the soil and planting flowers, bushes, hedges, or shrubs
- Cutting and removing trees as needed
- Picking up and removing trash prior to the start of the day
- Emptying trash and recycling containers
- Trimming bushes, shrubs, and hedges
- Conducting basic irrigation and performing basic irrigation repairs
- Performing routine maintenance on power equipment
- Performing other related duties

**Qualifications**
- Grounds crew/Landscaping experience valued but not a requirement
- High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent
- Valid driver’s license

- Typical workday is 6am-2pm Mon-Fri and 6am-10am every other weekend
- Work is mostly done outdoors and in all kinds of weather.
- May be repetitive and physically demanding, requiring frequent bending, kneeling, lifting
- Involves the operation of power equipment like lawnmowers, trimmers, and leaf blowers
- May require lifting heavy loads of up to 50 pounds, etc.
- May involve exposure to contaminants or chemicals (e.g., use of pesticides)
- Involves exposure to pollens and other allergens
- May require working longer hours during certain seasons (e.g., fall is when planting, mowing, and trimming activities are more frequent)
- Overtime and hours outside of the typical working schedule may be required
- Employment lasts from April-October

**Job Types**: Full-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 7 months

**Salary**: $16.55-$17.50 per hour

Expected hours: 32 - 44 per week

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
