We are currently looking for a Purchasing Coordinator to join our team in Hawkesbury, Ontario. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Purchasing Coordinator plays a crucial role in facilitating the procurement process within the plant for raw material, supplies and services.
SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Resolve vendor or contractor grievances, and claims against suppliers.
- Review contracts for conformance to company policy.
- Administer on-line purchasing systems.
- Arrange for disposal of surplus materials.
- Maintain records of goods ordered and received.
- Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies, raw materials, services and equipment.
- Ensure purchased items are delivered timely and as specified on the purchase order.
- Observe, receive, and obtain information from all relevant sources. Decision-making and resolve problem
- Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems. Communication- Enter, transcribe, record, store, and maintain information in written and/or electronic form. Process information
- Compile, code, categorize, calculate, tabulate, audit, and verify information or data. Organize, Plan, and prioritize work
- Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish tasks.

THE IDEAL CANDIATE HAS:

- 2 years of purchasing experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment
- Working experience with JD Edwards or similar ERP system
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Knowledge of production methods and coordination of resources.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
