**Position: Up Shoppe Retail Facilitator**

The Up Shoppe Retail Facilitator works in the social enterprise thrift store of North End Women’s Center. They facilitate the retail experiences of shoppers, support community referrals, welcomes donors and accepts donations.

Education and Experience:

- While education is important, NEWC equally values applicants that have work and/or lived expertise.
- Living in the North End or the inner city considered an asset
- Experience in a retail environment is an asset

Skills and Abilities:

Additional Requirements:

- Satisfactory Criminal Record and Child Abuse Registry Check
- The ability to regularly lift and move items 40 lbs+ and up and down stairs

Direct Service Responsibilities:

- To sort, store, clean, and repair donated items.
- To keep the Up Shoppe sorting room, laundry room, and kitchen areas clean and tidy.
- To organize the donations and new products stored in the basement and new product
- Ensure that there is 36-inch egress maintained throughout the entire store, including the back-sorting room for the accessibility and safety of customers, volunteers and staff
- Communicates when weekly overflow pick up is required
- To provide customer service at Point of Sale including: o Acknowledge customer o Offer “Customer Appreciation Card” o Bag purchased items o Provide invoice to each customer o Enter sale in the POS system o Take cash and provide change o Use the Interac machine
- To price the Up Shoppe merchandise
- To display merchandise including front window and in-store merchandise arrangements
- To participate in team meetings and staff meetings as needed
- To participate in regular supervision meetings
- Other duties as assigned

**Job Status**: Full-Time, Term until June 30, 2023
**Hours**: 37.5 hours/week - Monday to Friday 8:30am-4:30pm
**Closing Date**: Open until filled
**Start Date**: ASAP
**Salary Range**: $18-$24 / hour

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 3 months
