To be eligible for the SECURE Summer Student Program, you must meet the following requirements:

- Be enrolled in a post-secondary institution and available from May to August.
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada by way of Canadian Citizenship, Permanent Residency, or a valid work permit.
- If you are selected for a role considered safety-sensitive, you will be required to successfully complete a Medical and/or Alcohol and drug test.

**Students are also required to submit a cover letter and recent transcripts. The cover letter will address the following questions**:

**Your Opportunity at SECURE Energy**

As our Summer Student - Health, Safety, & Environment you will be responsible for assisting the team with key business functions and contributing to meaningful projects that align with our team’s goal. This position works closely with the Corporate H&S team and will support the organization and leveraging our Health and Safety Management System.

This role is based out of the Brookfield Office in downtown Calgary on a full-time, Monday to Friday schedule.

**The Team**

The team environment is collaborative, with a strong emphasis on supporting our operations group. The team values open communication, working together to address challenges, and achieving compliance across the organization.

**A Day in The Life**

The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

- Support and coordinate Health & Safety initiatives.
- Develop and communicate SECURE health and safety management system policies, and procedures.
- Participate in external audits across the organization as well as follow-up action plans.
- Collaborate and support the development of training programs.
- Support H&S statistical data reporting.

**Skills, Experience, & Qualifications**
- Actively enrolled in a post-secondary program in a Bachelor’s Degree (Commerce, Computer Science, or Data Analytics), Diploma or Technical Certificate (Occupational Health & Safety, Business, Environmental Science, or Information Technology)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, with strong Excel skills
- Experience with some Visualization Software Packages (PowerBI) is an asset
- The ability to collaborate and build strong working relationships with your team, peers, and diverse business groups
- Strong time and data management skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively.
- Problem-Solving: Analytical thinking and a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and handle changing priorities.
