**Job Summary**:
The Childcare Center Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the childcare facility, ensuring that all programs are implemented effectively, and that the environment meets the highest standards of safety, education, and care. This role involves supervising staff, managing resources, and ensuring compliance with Ontario's Ministry of Education regulations.

**Key Responsibilities:1. Program Management**:

- Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs and activities that support the developmental needs of children.
- Ensure programs meet or exceed the standards set by Ontario’s Ministry of Education.
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of the curriculum and make adjustments as necessary.

**2. Staff Supervision**:

- Recruit, hire, train, and supervise childcare staff, including educators, assistants, and support personnel.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback and professional development opportunities.
- Create staff schedules and ensure adequate coverage at all times.
- Facilitate team meetings and promote a positive, collaborative work environment.

**3. Compliance and Safety**:

- Ensure the center complies with all local, provincial, and federal regulations, including health, safety, and licensing requirements.
- Maintain accurate records, including attendance, incident reports, and staff certifications.
- Implement and enforce safety and emergency procedures to protect children and staff.
- Conduct regular inspections of the facility to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.

**4. Parent and Community Relations**:

- Serve as the primary point of contact for parents and guardians, addressing any concerns or inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Organize and participate in parent meetings, conferences, and events.
- Foster positive relationships with parents, ensuring open communication regarding their child’s progress and well-being.
- Promote the childcare center within the community to maintain enrollment levels.

**5. Administrative Duties**:

- Manage the center's budget, including monitoring expenses and ensuring financial sustainability.
- Maintain accurate financial records, including billing, payments, and payroll.
- Prepare reports for the center’s owner/director, including enrollment statistics, staff performance, and program evaluations.
- Ensure that all administrative tasks, such as maintaining staff and child files, are completed accurately and on time.

**6. Professional Development**:

- Stay informed about the latest developments in early childhood education and childcare best practices.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and encourage staff to do the same.
- Implement innovative strategies to enhance the center’s programs and services.

**7. Leadership and Vision**:

- Lead by example, promoting a culture of excellence, respect, and continuous improvement within the center.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance the center’s reputation and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with the owner/director to set goals and objectives for the center’s growth and success.

**Qualifications**:

- A diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or a related field and a post graduate diploma in Childcare management or Montessori school management.
- A valid Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Certificate of Registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE) in Ontario.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a childcare setting.
- In-depth knowledge of Ontario’s Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA) and the regulations of the Ministry of Education.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage a team effectively and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

**Working Conditions**:

- The position involves working in a childcare setting, which may include exposure to noise, frequent interruptions, and the need to lift and carry children.
- May require occasional evening or weekend work for special events or meetings.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Expected hours: 20 - 24 per week

Additional pay:

- Bonus pay
- Commission pay

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

- York, ON M6E 2X5: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Education**:

- DCS / DEC (preferred)
