ABOUT THE ROLE
The Financial Planning & Analysis Team works collaboratively with the organization to deliver budgeting and forecasting for the Management team at Hut 8. The team works alongside business unit owners to develop valuable reporting that provide detailed analysis and insights to support quality decision making. As critical players in the development of strategies and innovation to support business growth, this team of collaborative self-starters possesses the ability to translate data into compelling stories that inform, influence and guide organizational direction.
Some of the key responsibilities you should expect are the following:
- Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts, budgets, and variance analysis reports.
- Support the FP&A team in performing financial modeling and scenario analysis to aid decision-making processes.
- Compile and analyze financial data from multiple sources to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
- Assist in the preparation of management presentations and reports for senior leadership.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant information and provide financial insights.
- Help streamline and improve financial reporting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects and initiatives as assigned by the FP&A Manager or Director.
- Stay updated on industry trends, economic indicators, and regulatory changes affecting financial performance.
ABOUT YOU
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and financial modeling techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and data integrity.
- Proactive and eager to learn, with a willingness to take on new challenges and responsibilities.
- Familiarity with financial concepts such as NPV, IRR, ROI, and basic accounting principles is preferred.
- Prior internship experience in finance or related fields is a plus, but not required.
- Hard skills: Proficient in Excel, good understanding of Finance & Accounting data
- Soft skills: Team player, quick to learn, great communication skills, ability to meet tight deadlines
