**About Us**

Island Ready-Mix was the first and is the most experienced concrete ready-mix and aggregate supply company on the North Island. We are 100% locally owned and operated and have served the Campbell River area since 1952. Our concrete plant is located in our 30 acre gravel quarry. We mine, crush, screen and wash all of our aggregate and sand, then turn it into concrete for our customers.

We are passionate about what we do and are currently looking for a safety conscious and customer service-oriented Mixer Driver to join our team

**About the Job**

Here are some of the duties you can expect as a driver at Island Ready-Mix:

- Delivery of concrete to customers in a timely and pleasant manner
- Visually inspecting concrete mixes for correct slump and constituents
- Working with customers, engineers and other crews on site to achieve ideal placement
- Working closely with dispatch to ensure the quickest and safest route to jobs
- Observing all safety precautions and rules specified by site, area and company policy
- Maintaining a vehicle in a clean, organized and safe fashion
- Pouring and finishing concrete pre-cast products
- Working around the plant and operating other equipment as assigned

**About You**

Wondering if we will be a match? Here are a few skills we are looking for from the get-go:

- Class 3/Air Brakes
- 3-5 years of professional driving experience
- Clean driving record (abstract will be required)
- Customer service experience
- Demonstrated communication and problem-solving skills
- Basic mechanical knowledge (pre-shift inspections, preventative maintenance etc.)
- Understanding of local and provincial transportation regulations and trucking routes
- Concrete product knowledge an asset

**Additional Information**

We are pleased to offer a comprehensive Teamsters Local Union #213 wages/benefits package. Depending on business and weather conditions this position has occasional varied start times, overtime, and weekend work. We also like to have some fun along the way
