**Job Description**:
Reporting to the Director, Quality Improvement and Project Management, the **Strategy Lead** will support RVH’s Strategic Plan by providing portfolio alignment of RVH’s initiatives to help ensure that the healthcare centre achieves the objectives outlined in the Strategic Plan.

The Strategy Lead will help to connect the dots between the organization’s clinical services plans, redevelopment plans, regional digital health plans and other organizational roadmaps, goals, and projects. This work will ensure that business results are achieved, and that resources and staff are focused on tangibly moving forward the vision and deliverables of the organization’s overarching Strategic Plan.

As the Strategy Lead, you will be part of a dynamic and supportive team. RVH is a regional health centre and supports the initiatives of partner hospitals and other healthcare agencies. Access to reliable transportation for travel to partner sites may be required. During critical implementation periods, the ability to work off-hours and/or non-business hours may be required. The Strategy Lead position currently works on a flexible hybrid on-site / work-from-home model.

**Responsibilities**:

- Act as portfolio leader for all projects related to the Strategic Plan by developing and maintaining a roadmap of project deliverables that will ensure that RVH achieves the goals outlined on the healthcare centre’s Strategic Plan
- Coach leaders to distill organizational directions into concrete objectives and tangible deliverables that packaged into discrete projects
- Ensure that the various departmental corporate projects, roadmaps, and plans support the direction and implementation of the organizational strategic directions
- Facilitate cross-collaboration between both internal and external groups to identify innovative and creative opportunities for delivery and integration of strategic initiatives
- Identification of key performance indicators (KPIs) and the collection methods of data that will be used to measure and assess impact of initiatives
- Monitor and evaluate performance of strategic initiatives using the KPIs and other metrics to identify progress and/or potential risks or obstacles that may hinder success
- Support leaders in identifying resistance and performance gaps, and work to develop and implement corrective actions to positively address variance
- Create and maintain a strategy roadmap that will be used to provide reporting and visualization tools to communicate progress and results on core metrics as they relate to the Strategic Plan
- Conduct regular reviews of the Strategic Plan's performance and provide reports to senior management or relevant stakeholders. These reports should highlight achievements, challenges, and recommendations for improvement
- Liaison with the Corporate Communications and Foundation teams to ensure that strategic successes are regularly shared with both internal and external parties
- Maintain effective relationships with leaders to secure their support in necessary strategic changes
- Support projects or strategic initiatives identified in the Strategic Plan to ensure that project and change management methodologies are solidly established and used

**Education**:

- Undergraduate Degree in Health Sciences, Health Administration, Business, Leadership, Quality Improvement, or Project Management
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation
- Change Management certification
- Lean, Six Sigma, or other Quality Improvement certification
- Evidence of continuing education in related fields

**Experience**:

- 5 years professional experience in a similar role, preferably in a complex healthcare setting
- Experience developing strategy deployment and metric based performance evaluation systems (i.e., balanced scorecards)
- Experience leading projects with working knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques
- Experience in risk management and mitigation strategies
- Demonstrated leadership ability with experience building and leading effective teams and working relationships

- Ability to build commitment towards a compelling vision of what the future improvement will look like
- Demonstrated ability to translate strategic priorities into tactical and operational requirements
- Ability to analyze processes, enact change and think both operationally and strategically to achieve organizational goals
- Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships, gain credibility, and network effectively with all levels of the hospital partners and external partners
- Working knowledge of data collection, measurement, and reporting methodologies as they relate to strategy deployment, with the ability to draw insightful impressions from objective
