Driver Trainer

The Driver Trainer is to train and assess drivers to ensure compliance with regulations and company policies. They will work alongside with the health and safety team and be responsible for making sure all health and safety guidelines are met.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Perform over the road driver skills assessments (pre and post hire).
Assist in driver orientations both in truck and classroom.
Assist in remedial training.
Perform and observed behavior assessments (in cab and remote).
Train and assist drivers Post Incident.
Help to implement new programs and ways to improve the program.
Ensure all road tests are completed to our standards and compliance.
Attend all company required meetings.
Determine appropriate instructional methods.
Assist in the development of training material.
Additional responsibilities and tasks are required when asked.
Provide support to new and current driver group.

**Knowledge, Skills & Competencies**:
AZ licence required
Minimum 5+ years OTR driving experience and working knowledge of manual transmissions.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
Detail oriented with excellent organizational, problem solving, time management, communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiar with the Microsoft programs and operating systems.
PeopleNet experience is an asset.
Full understanding of MTO and DOT Regulations as well as the Highway Traffic Act.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Hands-on attitude with a can-do attitude wanting to succeed in the role.
Self-motivated and can work at a fast pace.
Able to operate a variety of vehicles both class A and D with Air Brake Endorsement.
Able to operate both manual and automatic shifting transmissions.
Waste industry experience is an asset.
Able to adjust to a dynamic schedule.
General Education Diploma Required.
FLEET Driver Trainer certification.
Minimum 2 years driver trainer experience.
Violation free abstracts.
