The Ambulatory Care Clinic is an outpatient clinic that provides health services to outpatients that require a wide range of scheduled outpatient procedures offered by the family physician and physician specialists to approximately 23,000 patients per year. Services include minor surgical procedures, evaluation and treatment of chronic conditions and diseases; intravenous therapy; blood transfusions; and follow-up medical evaluation and care for wounds.

The **Clerk** provides receptionist, clerical and patient centered duties that are essential to the efficient patient flow. This role includes but is not limited to:

- Register patients in the centralized registration area for all patients attending all clinics in the South Building including Cardio-Respiratory and Pulmonary Function Testing.
- Schedule patients for future appointments
- Maintain supplies
- Administrative functions and support
- Assist in the efficient and effective operation of the unit/department
- Answer phones and provide top notch customer service to callers

**HOURS**:
**SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED**:

- Medical Office Administration/Health Care Office Administration certificate required
- At least one (1) year experience within the last three (3) years of unit clerk experience
- Outpatient Cerner scheduling and registration experience required
- Knowledge of medical terminology required
- Knowledge of alpha and terminal digit filing systems required
- Willingness to participate in the planning and implementation of identified opportunities for changes related to the current patient registration process required.
- General clerical experience including reception, filing, and ordering supplies required
- Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills, including excellent telephone etiquette required
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-task environment with mínimal supervision utilizing effective organizational and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to write legibly
- Ability to adapt and work within a constantly changing environment
- Demonstrated computer knowledge and skills (Electronic Patient Record, Cerner, Novari, Powerchart, Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Internet/Intranet Usage) required
- Physical ability to carry out the essential duties of the position
- Acceptable attendance record in accordance with STEGH’s Attendance at Workplace Policy
- Acceptable performance record that is aligned with STEGH values
