**THE OPPORTUNITY**

As a member of the Data Centre Services (DCS) team, the Systems Administrator IV will be responsible for the support of core enterprise systems and services to meet the business needs of the University. Responsibilities include provisioning and administering both Microsoft Windows and Linux physical and virtual servers; performing administration of resources via a VMWare vSphere environment; deploying and managing through Red Hat Satellite; managing SAN storage and fibre channel; programming systems; monitoring the use of resources; automating procedures; troubleshooting system failures and user errors; providing documentation and technical assistance on a University-wide basis; participating in systems architecture and planning; keeping current with industry standards and best practices as well as on new technologies; researching and reporting on industry trends to determine potential areas for improvement; and performing other related duties as required by operations and project related work.

**THE IDEAL CANDIDATE**

Experience (5-7 years) in systems administration of Linux and Windows in a VMware environment; graduation from a four-year college or university with major course work in Computer Science; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Experience with VMware, RHEL and Red Hat Satellite, and Microsoft Windows Server is required. Experience with identity management technologies (i.e. Microsoft FIM/MIM, LDAP, Active Directory) are also required. Analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills; effective communication and relationship building skills are essential. Experience in SAN infrastructure, Fibre Channel management, or Cisco UCS management would be a significant asset.

**SALARY **$62,550 - $81,079 per annum (Management and Professional)
