Established in 1963, **Strescon Limited **has grown to become the largest precast, pre-stressed concrete manufacturer in Eastern Canada. Its primary market covers the Atlantic Provinces and the New England region of the United States. Strescon manufactures a wide range of both architectural and structural precast/prestressed concrete products including bridge girders, wall panels, complete parking garages, hollow-core planking, piling and deck slabs. Strescon presently has two facilities: 70,000 sq ft. in Saint John, New Brunswick and 50,000 sq. ft. in Bedford, Nova Scotia.

In addition to our engineered precast facilities for custom components, Strescon also operates a 32,000 sq. ft. facility in Saint John which manufactures standard concrete products for engineered drainage systems, such as pipe, manholes and catch basins.

**Strescon Limited **is currently recruiting a full time or part time Plant Maintenance Technician at our precast concrete facility in Bedford, NS.

**Responsibilities**
- Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on all facility equipment and systems
- Assist with troubleshooting all mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and PLC systems
- Working with outside third party maintenance companies
- Conduct equipment inspections as required or as outlined by the preventative maintenance schedule to detect and diagnose issues
- Report detailed records of work performed to management
- Contribute to plant upgrades and improvements
- Additional duties as assigned

**Technical Requirements**
- Strong electrical and PLC experience
- 3 to 7 years’ experience in a heavy industrial environment
- Valid provincial certification as an Industrial or Construction Electrician would be an asset
- Past experience in the maintenance of overhead cranes would be useful
- Journeyman Industrial Mechanic/Millwright or equivalent experience would be an asset
- Welding tickets would also be considered an asset

- Strong troubleshooting/problem solving skills
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to handle physically demanding work
- Must be comfortable working at heights
- Must have reliable transportation to work

**Cultural Requirements**
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate within a diverse workforce
- Available to work shifts on a flexible basis including short notice of overtime

Hourly wage for this position starts between $23-$25 per hour.
