Guelph City Mazda is seeking an enthusiastic **Product Advisor** to join our team. Reporting to the General Sales Manager, the Product Advisor plays a key role in guiding customers through the vehicle purchase or leasing process. You will build lasting relationships with customers, aligning vehicles and features—such as luxury upgrades or color preferences—with their needs and desires. Your primary goal is to ensure a seamless sales experience by delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring customer satisfaction with their purchase.
**Position Duties & Responsibilities**
- Understand and present dealership products while identifying customer needs.
- Calculate vehicle costs, including allowances, fees, taxes, and down payments, to determine the final price.
- Collaborate with Sales Managers to complete sale contracts that meet customer expectations.
- Address customer concerns and resolve hesitations during the sales process.
- Maintain a professional and positive image of the dealership in both appearance and attitude.
- Set personal sales goals in coordination with the Sales Manager and implement strategies to achieve them.
- Manage administrative tasks efficiently, including paperwork, reports, and customer follow-up systems.
- Adhere to health and safety policies, participate in training, and report any hazards or unsafe practices.
- Engage customers in meaningful conversations to gather information and suggest alternatives when necessary.
- Be comfortable working with numbers and confidently present accurate product information.
- Stay informed about product updates, sales techniques, and administrative processes.
- Build strong interdepartmental relationships, particularly with the Financial Services team, to support the sales process.
- Ensure all customer interactions meet GM of Canada Limited and dealership standards.
- Attend training sessions to improve product knowledge and sales skills.
- Follow up with potential and existing customers regularly to generate new, additional, and repeat sales.
- Provide detailed and accurate information on all prospective customers.
- Address customer concerns and offer effective solutions using available dealership resources.
- Assist with dealership tasks such as sales events, lot organization, snow removal, vehicle orders, and promotions when requested.
- Ensure proper handover to the Business Office to facilitate the sale of additional products.
- Deliver superior customer service throughout the entire sales process.
- Comply with accident prevention protocols to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed.
**Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required**
- Basic understanding of automotive systems, with strong knowledge of pricing, models, features, and options for the manufacturer’s products.
- Ability to identify customer needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport and maintain customer relationships.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in basic math to calculate pricing, fees, and financing options.
- Positive, empathetic attitude with a customer-focused approach.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
**Qualifications**
- Diploma, or Certification in a related field is desirable.
- 1-2 years related experience in an automotive environment.
- A valid Ontario G driver’s license is required for this position and a OMVIC certificate.
