The QA Manager maintains and verifies programs and policies for exceptional product quality and efficient processes at our CFIA certified Ice Cream & Cheese manufacturing facility in Winnipeg, MB.

Chaeban Ice Cream creates award winning, super-premium handmade ice cream - in 18+ unique flavours - including classic dairy ice cream & dairy-free recipes. Chaeban Artisan is our award winning, house made cheese brand that produces 7+ types of cheese. All Chaeban products are made in our facility at 390 Osborne with Manitoba-produced milk and only premium ingredients. Many of our ice cream and cheese products are distributed across Canada for sale in many major grocery chains, including Safeway, Sobey’s & Whole Foods.

**Requirements**:
**Qualifications**:

- Education: Food Sciences degree or equivalent
- 1-2 years of related experience in food manufacturing, preferred
- Personable and professional; excellent communication skills in verbal and written format
- Ability to coach and communicate well with team members on changes and procedures
- Astute attention to detail; able to follow lab procedures and use aseptic techniques
- Trained on critical control points and their verification
- Experience in the dairy industry is an asset
- CFIA, BRC, GFSI, and HACCP knowledge or experience is an asset
- Allergen control experience: Gluten free and Halal knowledge preferred
- CFIA and regulatory experience with SFCR
- Investigative skills for root cause analysis
- Ability to multitask, delegate, problem solve and conduct validations
- Flexible to adapt to changes, people, and programs
- Proficient in Word, Excel & SOS Inventory Software.

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform laboratory testing (in process, finished products, air, water, environmental)
- Ensure finished products shelf-life samples are collected, retained, and evaluated
- Check laboratory equipment calibration
- Maintains and verifies records and written procedures (SOPs and forms)
- Performs updates as required and reports relevant information to those responsible
- Participates in completion of validation and risk assessment
- Lead on the Recall Team and participates in traceability exercise
- Ensures any third-party certification requirements are met and implemented in programs
- Implements corrective actions to non-conformities
- Investigates customer complaints
- Performs product development changes; trains and coaches employees
- Willing to train staff on production procedures
- Able to work in the production area, to lend a hand, as needed
- Perform duties as assigned

**Benefits**

Part time, Monday to Friday, 4 hours per day.

Exact hours of work may flex based on the production schedule for the week.

This is an in-person position, you'll be working alongside the production team at the manufacturing facility at 390 Osborne Street.

Wage: $18-23/hour, commensurate with experience

The position is 20 hours per week 5*4 hours shifts, Monday to Friday.

Flexibility is required to meet the scheduling of production.
