**TMI is currently looking for a Site Safety Officer **to support our operations at a customer site in Hamilton, Ontario. The position provides support of our occupational health and safety and environmental program by working closely with our union tradesman, supervisors and our customer.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assisting with and administering Onsite safety orientations for all field workers, (collecting and filing safety certificates and ensuring all workers on site have proper qualifications)
- Performing regular site safety audits and ensuring TMI supervision are aware of all hazards and put a plan in place to control all hazards.
- Perform audits of tasks taking place at site for procedural compliance to regs and company policies.(i.e. confined space, fall protection, new Chemical Approvals, risk assessments, lock-out/tag-out) and perform audits and safety inspections in the workplace.
- Providing leadership in the investigation of all safety incidents and providing direction for corrective actions.
- Providing safety oversight and coaching to TMI workers on safety concerns
- Participating in the delivery of safety and training initiatives (Daily safety talks, Company bulletins, Incident review)
- Maintaining updated records via reporting systems for safety incidents, near-miss reports, and other related policies and procedures
- Review, revise and solicit input to the Safety Management System as required
- Promote various safety initiatives and demonstrate a “safety first” mindset.

**Requirements**:

- Post-secondary education diploma or degree program in OHS
- NCSO and/or CRSP certification or progress towards certification
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an industrial or construction environment
- Confidence in providing coaching and influencing the behavior of unionized trade employees
- Ability to work collaboratively with others to accomplish objectives
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
- A commitment to enforce understanding and compliance with responsibilities under the provincial Occupational Health and Safety Acts and Regulations, and TMI Safety Systems, policies and procedures
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient with basic computer programs, (word, excel) comfortable using tablets and other forms or electronics.
- Knowledge of EHS Management Systems.
- Prior experience working in a unionized environment is preferred.

**Salary**: $40.00-$50.00 per hour
