Greenhouse Technician

**Job Summary**
Reporting to the Supervisor, the Greenhouse Technician will assist in the organization, coordination, and implementation of greenhouse work and activities.

**Job Duties**
- Display professional behavior at all times. Reporting to work as scheduled each day and maintaining a good working relationship with Supervisor and co-workers.
- Ensure the Greenhouse is maintained and kept clean at all times.
- Adhere to established safe working procedures and wear proper safety equipment at all times.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, performing all duties consistently, accurately, safely and at the lowest feasible cost.
- Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety, and other statutory requirements.
- Complete work as assigned by the Supervisor, with results that meet quality, expectations and specifications.
- Monitor plant growth and health, making adjustments as needed
- Fertilize and irrigate plants according to their specific needs
- Scouting crop for pests and disease
- Assist in implementation of the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program and ensure that accepted IPM procedures are being maintained.
- Provide timely labor, cultural, and inventory adjustment data; maintain growing records that include specifics about plant growth, fertilization, pest problems, and treatments.
- Check and record pH/EC weekly
- Maintain daily communication with the Supervisor to coordinate daily activities and to ensure continuous improvement in production.
- Order fulfillment, loading plants on skids, and loading trucks for delivery.
- Responsible to put forth recommendations and suggestions to improve the work environment and plant health
- Advise Supervisor and team of any knowledge that would be detrimental or beneficial to the organization.
- Available to work full time hours and to be flexible to work any scheduled day and weekends.
- Hours may vary depending on holidays and business needs.
**Job Requirements**
- Degree or Diploma in Horticulture Technician / Greenhouse program
- Experience working in a similar role.
- Experience with scouting - pest, disease identification on crops and IPM practices
- Must possess Greenhouse Pesticide license.
- Knowledge of Mechanical Operations of Greenhouse.
- Ability to effectively communicate the English language both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work individually as well as a part of a team.
**Working Conditions**
- Repetitive work - walking and standing for long periods of time.
- Regular exposure to environmental conditions such as heat, cold, and rain.
- Assist with stocking and organization of greenhouse and field consumables and equipment on an as-needed basis.

**Salary**: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 - 45 per week
