What to expect

As a Data Analyst (Co-op) in the Data Management team reporting into the Director, Data Management, you will use your passion for data and analytics to provide insights to the organization covering a range of topics including business data as well as healthcare data. You will be given the opportunity to analyze data by working closely with all levels of stakeholders across the organization with the goal of pushing our products and services to the next level.

**Responsibilities**:
Data Analysis and Reporting
Create and execute queries to retrieve data in order to generate reports for internal and external stakeholders
Develop the end-to-end process of a data project, including data cleaning, preparation, exploration, analysis and reporting
Create a dashboard
Maintain and update query library to aid in standardizing reporting
Support business areas by delivering ad hoc data requests
Data Documentation
Create and maintain data documentation including artefacts such as data requests, data dictionaries, business glossaries, and data models
Maintain and document data processes
Data Governance
Support Verto’s master and reference data journey through the identification and standardization of master and reference datasets, definitions, and meta-data
Support consistency in reports and data through the data lineage activities and documentation

Qualifications, knowledge and experience

Enrolled in a Master’s Degree bioinformatics, computer science, statistics, biostatistics, data science, or related area with a co-op program
Experience with data programming languages such as R, Python and SQL
Experience with version control software (e.g., Git)
Experience with BI Tools such as Google Data Studio, Power BI, Tableau, etc.
Experience working with a variety of data types, healthcare data would be an asset

Strong problem solving, written/oral communication, time management, and analytical skills
You have excellent judgment and can make thoughtful decisions as a creative problem solver
You are detail-oriented, highly organized with a pragmatic approach, and can prioritize competing deliverables
Ability to work independently and collaborative effectively in a flexible, fast-paced (remote) environment through your oral, written, reporting, and presentation skills
Commitment and interest in continuous learning and development
