A leading heavy civil construction company in the Halifax area is looking to expand Whether our clients need help on medium or large scale heavy civil construction projects, our team provides the highest level of service, organization, and expertise, which is why we are trusted by some of the largest utility providers in the province for important and emergency work.

We are looking for hard-working, motivated individuals who are willing to grow, work as part of a strong team, and play a key part in a variety of projects for our ever-growing client base. You will have stable work year-round, lots of opportunity to progress in the company and to take on leadership positions.

**Responsibilities**:

- Receiving the Work Package from the Estimating Team and working together to gain a full understanding of the project and the expected costs and timelines.
- With the help of a Project Coordinator, making sure that the project is set up for success. This could include ensuring that all permits are in-hand, subcontractors are scheduled, materials are ordered, proper equipment and manpower are scheduled, proper information is included in the job folder for the use of the crew and aligning expectation with the client.
- Ability to lead a team by being a good and effective communicator
- Encouraging expected productivity from the crews on site.
- Effectively identify Scope of Work that falls outside of the contractual obligations outlined in the contract. Bringing this SOW change to the client’s attention and working through Change Directives or Change Orders clearly.
- Ensuring that the project is completed within the expected timeframe and budget.
- Clear communication with the scheduling group if things change on site.
- Strengthening existing client relationships and building new ones
- Excellence in building rapport and creating a team environment where all those with project responsibilities work well together
- Ability to maintain a high level of organization.
- Excellence in planning how each process should be done, how resources are to be used, and when the project should be completed
- Ability to determine potential risks while devising proactive ways to solve them
- Ability to welcome constructive feedback
- Excellence in verbal and oral communication skills
- Approval of supplier and subcontractor invoices.
- Generating Progress Billings and Final Invoicing.

**Requirements**:

- 3 years of heavy civil construction project management.
- Technical knowledge of construction, site-work and municipal infrastructure practices.
- Ability to read construction drawings, understand specifications, and contract documents.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications, including Excel.
- Ability to work as a team player, manage multiple priorities, and work in a fast -paced environment.
- Capability to independently prioritize multiple tasks in a logical order of importance.
- Must be organized, on time and precise.
- Excellent oral and written communications.
- Client focused with attention to detail.
- Have a valid Driver’s License with a clean driver's abstract.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $80,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
