**Payroll and Scheduling System Analyst (PSSA)**
**(Remote position)**

**Role Description**
***
Reporting to the Manager, Payroll, the Payroll and Scheduling System Analyst (PSSA) is the liaison between the operational scheduling and payroll systems. This role is responsible for providing end-user support for the scheduling system to provide accurate and timely payroll processing. The PSSA works with key stakeholders from the business to identify and develop best practices to ensure operational efficiency and excellence. The PSSA plays an integral role in legislative compliance, ensuring the payroll requirements in the system are updated and maintained as required.

**Responsibilities**

**Application Support and Maintenance**
- Troubleshoots, analyzes, prioritizes, and helps coordinate the resolution of Payroll problems and issues.
- Establishes a thorough knowledge of the scheduling software configuration and setup.
- Develops expertise in day-to-day usage of the scheduling software.
- Maintains, tests, updates, and configures the scheduling system as necessary to ensure Payroll legislative compliance.
- Updates the scheduling system regarding applicable statutory holidays, shift types, pay codes, agreements, and any other changes as required.
- Identifies and works with IS to resolve issues as they arise.
- Configures and manages scheduling system per payroll requirements.

**User Training and Support**
- Serves as the primary contact for coaching and trouble-shooting issues.
- Works with Operations and HR to determine the necessity for new agreements as applicable to system configuration.
- Works with the Regional Admin Team to provide support and coaching on the entry of key data into the system.
- Loads Quinyx information into Payroll.
- Reviews and sends out error reports to applicable stakeholders; follows up to ensure corrections have been made in an accurate and timely manner.
- Works with the business during the on/off cycles to ensure Quinyx issues are resolved in a timely manner.
- Identifies discrepancies between the scheduling and payroll system and work toward resolution.
- Develops and maintains applicable training materials for applicable stakeholders.

***Business Best Practices and Process Documentation**
- Recommends best practices in how to use the scheduling software to maximize the features of the software and ensure team members are paid as per legislation.
- Creates and updates procedures and process documents as required.

***Collaboration with IS on System Maintenance and Upgrades**
- Builds strong working relationships with applicable IS stakeholders.
- Works closely with IS to implement scheduling system upgrades and enhancements.
- Tests configuration changes or newly developed reports & processes.
- Assists with planning and executing software roll out to new locations and additional business units.

**Payroll Resource**
- Provides Payroll assistance and support to the team as required by business needs.

***Work Experience**
- 3+ year’s business-related Payroll experience from a (reasonably complex structure).
- 2+ years’ experience in system testing, maintenance, and configuration
- PeopleSoft experience would be an asset.

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**
- Ability to prioritize and meet objectives within established time frames.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong computer skills; minimum intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office suite.
- Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work within a team environment.
- Understands business needs and participates in solution definition.
- Demonstrated ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

**Education**
- Post-secondary graduate with a degree, diploma or certificate in computer science or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Payroll Certification or working towards certification.
