**Programs Manager**

The Indigenous Network is an Indigenous Friendship Centre and a member of the Ontario Federation of Indigenous Friendship Centres. We are committed to providing a culturally safe and respectable environment for Indigenous peoples to engage in their spirituality, culture, and community.

**JOB SUMMARY**:
The successful incumbent will be responsible for overseeing programs, operational needs, financial management, personnel, reporting, policy, advocacy, and meeting all contractual deadlines and funding requirements.

**Salary**: $76,000.00 per year

**IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR**: Executive Director

**EMPLOYER**: The Indigenous Network, Mississauga/Peel Region 

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**: 
- To provide strong and culturally responsive program management of The Indigenous Network’s programs and support effective service delivery within the centre.
- Management of Friendship Centre programs, initiatives, program budgets, deliverables, community partnerships, and reporting as delegated by the Executive Director
- Implements and monitors program resources including program changes, preparation, and presentation of reports, and work plans defining program progress, problems, and solutions.
- Works closely with staff via regular supervision to ensure the completion of performance goals.

**Leadership**:

- Works closely with program coordinators by providing direction, coaching, feedback, training, and development opportunities.
- Creates and implements a performance management process to regularly conduct program coordinator's performance reviews.

**Technical Competencies**:

- Excellent interpersonal and management skills including demonstrated ability to lead and motivate staff
- Demonstrated experience in managing complex programs, initiatives and projects with multiple outcomes (includes good time management skills)
- Strong listening, oral and written communication skills
- Exceptional knowledge of fiscal management (budgets, program expenditures, etc.)

**Education and Work Experience**:

- Post-secondary education in Social Sciences, or acceptable equivalent /related experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience at a Supervisory/Management level
- Human Resources education or experience is considered an asset.
- Proven experience 3 - 5 years’ experience working within a not-for-profit sector or social services sector, preferably within an Indigenous organization.

**Skills** 
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English 
- Demonstrated skills in working with diverse groups of people. 
- Demonstrated assessment skills. 
- Strong organizational/planning/facilitation skills 
- Computer skills including MS Suite.
- Excellent interpersonal skills 

**Employment Conditions**:
Specific employment conditions are specified in an employment contract with the Executive Director.
- Criminal Reference Clearance (CPIC) and Vulnerable Sector Clearance are requirements of the employment offer.
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License, use of own insured vehicle
