The City of Vancouver’s Legal Services Department has a temporary vacancy for a Solicitor (2 year term).

**Specific Duties and Responsibilities**
- Provide legal advice to a variety of City departments, including the FIFA Secretariat, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Finance, and Arts, Culture, and Community Services
- Practice in a number of different areas of law and on a variety of projects, including:

- FIFA World Cup 2026,
- Public procurement of goods and services,
- Construction,
- Technology Solutions,
- Infrastructure Projects,
- Funding and Grant Agreements.
- Corporate Governance
- Municipal Law, and
- Inter-Governmental Agreements and Relations

**Qualifications**

Education and Experience
- Professional Law Degree and membership (in good standing) with the Law Society of B.C
- At least five years of experience as a lawyer, practicing as a solicitor in a number of areas of law described above

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the proven ability to manage conflict situations effectively
- Strong organizational skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines in a multiple task environment
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Demonstrated ability to effectively leverage law office technology to increase productivity
