**Reporting to the Director of Sales**
**POSITION OVERVIEW**
Mitten Building Products is seeking a highly driven **Branch Manager** with a strong passion for operations. Reporting to the Regional Director, this position is responsible for managing all operations of their branch including financial performance, production, customer service, safety, inventory management and associate training and development.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Ensure all employee training is up to date, all safety practices are understood, and consistent safety practices are applied.
- Ensure all equipment and racking is well maintained and in safe condition.
- Ensure the warehouse is always clean, organized, and monthly safety inspections are performed.
- Ensure branch activities are compliant with all applicable Health & Safety legislation.
- Complete accident investigations, WSIB/WCB/WorkSafe paperwork.
- Ensure warehouse staff consistently uses proper lifting techniques/loading techniques as set out by the Human Resources & Health & Safety departments.
- Implement an inventory cycle count procedure to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Manage inventory to ensure sufficient turns are achieved.
- Implement FIFO practices.
- Ensure stock replenishment is sufficient.
- Ensure all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) are consistently applied.
- Supervise general office functions such as Accounts Payable, Credit & Collections, order entry, customer service, etc.
- Responsible for the hiring, orientation, training and development of office and warehouse staff.
- Responsible for expense management within the branch.
- Responsible for efficiencies and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Responsible for freight management.
- Responsible for effective scheduling and use of any existing branch delivery trucks which includes driver safety compliance and maintenance schedules.
- Responsible for security of the facility and all contents; this would include any existing outside storage areas.
- Assigns and ensures active participation in local Home Builder Associations and approved industry organizations.
- Participates and helps coordinate all defined and approved sales promotional activities e.g., trade shows, monthly promos, open house events, “Certified” training programs, Designed Exterior contractor programs, etc.
- Work closely with senior management and stakeholders in planning and developing strategies and implementing programs to ensure effective selling, promotion, customer education and seamless customer service and satisfaction.
- Responsible for achieving branch house account sales targets within an assigned territory.
- Assist sales staff with product specification and sourcing.
- Participate in company meetings, tradeshows, and activities as required.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Education**
- University or College degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Marketing and/or Finance.
**Experience**
- 5+ years of industry related experience including previous experience within a Branch/Sales Management role preferred.
- 3+ years of P & L management responsibility.
- A solid understanding of inventory principles and logic is necessary.
- Knowledge of exterior building products industry an asset.
