**About the Position**

We are currently seeking an Industrial Controller to join our Finance team The Industrial Controller supports the Campus Industrial Controller in the various aspects of his activities. The Industrial Controller is responsible for the daily functioning and direction of the industrial accounting for the Gallant & Artemis campuses. The Controller establishes financial policies and practices that ensure the company’s compliance with CA GAAP, IAS and Ceva financial policies. This position has primary responsibility for industrial accounting operations, inventory accounting, central biological accounting and related internal control procedures. This position will report to the lead Industrial Controller of Canada

**Responsibilities**
- Performs work order reviews with operations’ staff to understand and correct manufacturing variances. Communicates variances weekly to leadership to drive improvement of manufacturing operations. Closes work orders after analysis is understood. Properly account for the capitalization and amortization of variances.
- Sets standards on all products, including partnering with operations to ensure accurate bill of materials and routings. Performs JDE Key User role for all standard cost functions. Leads annual cost roll.
- Ensures accuracy of actual spending in manufacturing departments and reviews results with department leaders. Oversees development of manufacturing spending budgets. Develops overhead rates for use in standard costs.
- Perform monthly inventory reconciliation, analyze and correct inventory movements. Assist operations members in process improvement related to JDE transactions.
- Completes monthly/weekly reporting for management review at different levels of the organization. Analyzes financial results in conjunction with operational data to communicate the outcome. Presents timely reporting to senior level management in Finance & Operations. Demonstrates the ability to highlight and project areas of risk & opportunities within the financial result.
- Responsible for accurately updating inventory at risk. Tracking, analyses and reporting for inventory provision changes and destructions is key.
- Provides financial support to plant level and executive management regarding ongoing plant improvement projects. Participate in ad hoc projects and analysis as required.
- Ownership and tracking of month end close responsibilities while complying with a strict 3-day close timeline.
- Ensure balance sheet reconciliation and integrity for inventory accounts.
- Assists controller with annual audit responsibilities and compliance, including but not limited to, leading physical inventory.

**About You**
- You have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- Ideally, you have a CPA or CMA designation
- You have a minimum of 3 years of progressive industrial accounting experience
- You have the ability to communicate clearly with and to all levels of a multi-national organization.
- You have the ability to present complex issues in a clear and concise manner to Sr. Management
- You have the ability to defend difficult issues in the face of strong resistance.
