While playing a key role in the Finance Department, the Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing and mentoring junior team members of the department.

**Responsibilities Include**:

- **Financial Reporting**
- Produce and maintain monthly, quarterly, and annual portfolio results by property and on a consolidated basis
- Produce and maintain financial budgets
- Preparation of internal and external reports for the Board of Directors
- Uses analytical tools to identify and assess operational financial performance issues and track KPIs
- **Establishes and Maintains Policies & Procedures**
- Assists with establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems
- Assists with financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
- Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
- **Management & Leadership**
- Provides day-to-day project leadership, coaching, and mentoring to internal staff as required
- Supervises and mentors junior staff on the team
- Builds, manages, and maintains a high-performance team through effective talent recruitment, coaching, and development and demonstration of Edison’s Purpose and Values
- Sets high standards, establishes accountabilities, and measures performance consistent with Edison’s Purpose and Values
- Uses influence to achieve consensus amongst cross-functional teams in a timely manner
- Ensures all parties adhere to health and safety standards and promotes a healthy and safe work environment
- Contributes to organizational decisions and provides input and counsel to inform the leadership of impacts within the scope of responsibility

**Qualifications and Experience Required**:

- **Education**: Post-secondary education in accounting or business.
- Certified Professional in Accounting (CPA) designation is required
- **Experience**: 4-5 years of accounting experience and supervisory experience preferably in a property management environment
- Clear Criminal Records Check (with Vulnerable Sector Search), and Valid Driver’s License must be maintained
- Use of Microsoft Excel at an advanced level, comfortable working with complex spreadsheets and sophisticated formulas
- Basic knowledge of Outlook and Word. Experience working with Yardi is an asset.
