Position Overview:
- Park Operations is seeking temporary labourers to perform winter control duties related to the positions outlined in the 2023/2024 Parks Winter Pool.- Please note that the initial selection of applicants that will be considered for the vacant winter positions will take place following the September 14th Parks Winter Job Pool. Successful applicants will be assigned to a vacant winter pool position in the Parks Winter Pool. Applicants will be kept on file and may be contacted if any filled winter control positions become available.**Responsibilities**:
- Positions will involve a variety of winter control duties including manual labour organized within the following winter sections:
- Downtown Sidewalks, City Hall, Market, Victoria Park Outdoor Rink.
- Hand Clearing - Sidewalks, Facility Walkways, Walkway Steps and School Crossing Guard Intersections.
- City Sidewalks, inspection of winter rinks, toboggan hills, dog parks and other city assets.
- Facility Parking Lots, BMUT’s/Multi use trails, Cemeteries and Rep Route Patrol.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

**Requirements**:
- Must have a minimum Grade 12 diploma.
- Valid MTO “G” class driver’s license in good standing.
- Must have the ability to be trained in the operation of all related equipment and work skills.
- Available and flexible to work varying shifts, rotational duties, weekends, and overtime as required.
- Must be able to perform a variety of duties including manual labour.
- Must have the ability to participate as an effective team member.
- Must have demonstrated communication/customer service skills with an ability to keep accurate written records.
- Must be reliable with a good attitude and employment record.
