Reporting to the Manager of Bus Technology of the Edmonton Transit Service (ETS), you will be responsible for managing and maintaining transit technology for Edmonton Transit Systems.

With a focus on the City of Edmonton’s Cultural Commitments to Safe, Helpful, Accountable, Integrated and Excellent, you will:

- Run data exports for loading into various internal and external systems
- Collaborate with Planners and Schedulers to obtain changes made to routes and schedules
- Create and maintain bus stop placement from site drawings, stop requests and inventory sheets of the locations of bus stops, associated inventory and new subdivisions and roadways
- Assess bus stop requirements for route changes and/or implementation of new transit routes
- Support route testing in conjunction with Schedulers/Planners requirements for new or modifications to routes
- Provide list of upcoming tabbing changes to the stop technicians each signup for the purposes of signage creation
- Maintain onboard vehicle announcement data sets and deploy regular updates
- Maintain GIS data such as road segments, stop locations, and shape files for various transit systems
- Contribute to testing of new software and software updates for the Planning and Scheduling areas
- Provide schedule and stop information for brochures and pamphlets
- Other related duties

**Qualifications**:

- Completion of grade 12 or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of direct transit experience. Experience in more than one transit area is an asset
- Ability to analyze, review, and manage large amounts of data
- Knowledge of transit schedules and systems, transit routes and factors impacting their efficiency
- Knowledge of the policies, procedures and standards for creating quality service schedules
- Ability to plan and schedule multiple priorities within tight deadlines
- Ability to analyze systems to determine the source of problems, recommend potential solutions and prepare information packages and summary reports
- Knowledge of computer programming, databases, or data analytics is an asset
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work independently, with mínimal supervision
- Valid Alberta Class 2 driver's license or provincial equivalent. Obtaining and maintaining a City Driver's permit is a requirement of this position
