At Speeders, we love to race. We’re the first indoor electric go-karting facility in Canada, and
for over 11 years, we’ve been delivering an exhilarating and safe racing experience to racers
of all skill levels.
We offer many types of racing, including drop-in racing and group events like
bachelor/bachelorette parties, birthday parties, and corporate events. Our goal is to provide
a safe, family-oriented, social environment where individuals can enjoy themselves while
learning some new skills behind the wheel.
**The Opportunity**:
SPEEDERS is excited to reopen our newly renovated Richmond location. We use electric
go-karts on a Multi-level racetrack, the next level of thrilling entertainment in go-kart racing.
Our new facility offers many forms of exciting entertainment for all ages By using electric
karts there are no exhaust fumes and no smells, making our workplace warm and clean.

**Job Purpose**
The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking food according to the Chef's
instructions. They set up menu stations and arrange other supplies. This role utilizes
specialized culinary equipment to process necessary components and produce final
products.
The successful Line Cook is committed to quality and has excellent attention to detail. This
person ensures that as excellent food is prepared, the kitchen adheres to health and safety
regulations.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Storing food and ingredients and ensuring they are fresh
- Assisting in stocking and preparing kitchen stations
- Preparing food, including weighing, cleaning, and chopping ingredients and cooking
entrees, desserts, and appetizers per the chef’s instructions
- Plating and garnishing food for serving
- Keeping work areas, equipment, utensils, and dishes clean
- Assuring that the kitchen's operations and cleanliness adhere to food safety requirements
and standards
- Performing additional relevant tasks as assigned by the chef
**Qualifications**:
- 1 year of experience as a line cook or any related position in the kitchen
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certificate from a trade school is a plus
- Knowledge of kitchen health and safety regulations

Working Conditions
- Exposure to very hot temperatures
- May be exposed to safety hazards (e.g. slippery floor, hot oven, sharp objects).
- Working at your feet for most of the day
- May require lifting heavy loads of up to 40 pounds at a time
- May require varied shifts
- Overtime and hours outside of the typical working schedule may be required
