**Position Purpose and** **Summary**

As part of the TWU Learning Commons team, the Coordinator, Centre for Accessible Learning (CAL), coordinates the provision of academic accommodations for TWU students. The Coordinator manages the Centre for Accessible Learning Exam Centre’s operations, including accommodated exams, scheduling, and oversight of the Exam Centre facility. The Coordinator works closely with and implements recommendations from the Director, Centre for Accessible Learning. The Coordinator interacts regularly with students and faculty regarding Exam Centre and academic accommodation arrangements.

**This position requires in-person presence in the Exam Centre, will be situated primarily on the TWU Langley campus, and requires the ability to work flexible hours.**

This is an ongoing, full-time position at 40 hours per week for 10 months each year. Two months off in the summer are unpaid.

**Key Areas of Accountability**
- Responsible for all Exam Centre operations
- Communicate with students regarding accommodated exam and notetaker requests, processes, and scheduling
- Communicate with faculty to obtain all necessary information for provision of accommodated exams
- Establish and implement Exam Centre processes to ensure academic integrity
- Securely obtain, prepare, use and return exam documents to ensure confidentiality of faculty’s intellectual property
- Work closely with and implement recommendations from the Director, Centre for Accessible Learning
- Collaborate with TWU staff to ensure the Exam Centre’s physical environment, computer hardware, and software provide effective student support, efficient operations, and support academic integrity
- Create a welcoming environment in the Exam Centre, recognizing the stress students face during assessments, and respecting the diversity of TWU students
- Maintain student confidentiality and exam security
- Respond to unexpected situations with professionalism and sound judgement
- Oversee organization, retention, and secure disposal of CAL materials
- Train and update exam invigilators on Exam Centre processes and troubleshooting
- Coordinate, select and oversee peer notetakers by corresponding with students, faculty, and Human Resource staff
- Adapt to the changing needs of student academic accommodations at TWU
- Perform other tasks as required to support the CAL and Learning Commons team as new needs emerge

- Experience working in post secondary education
- Technological familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; comfort with and eagerness to learn new technologies
- Adaptability to work in an unpredictable context and manage sudden changes
- Flexibility in work hours, such as early mornings or evenings as needed; prepared for busy final exam periods in April and December
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently; comfortable working quietly while students are writing tests

**Education**: Bachelor’s degree

**Experience**: Two or more years of experience working in post secondary education
