Our EDO (Engineering Design Organization) is looking for a dynamic and motivated individual to take on the role of **Junior/Intermediate **Design Manager **based out of our **Vancouver, BC **office. As a Junior Design Manager, you will support Senior Design Managers on projects in the Western Canada Region and support internal Project Managers, throughout the GHD Enterprise, in all aspects of the project with a primary focus on organizing the technical team to complete the task, control the design path, solve problems, and work to deliver a high quality design. You will also support the contract and construction administration team through construction to see our designs come to fruition and make a difference in our communities.

**Responsibilities**:

- Work closely with Design Managers and Project Managers on all major project functions, with a primary focus on managing the technical project team
- Coordinate technical team leads of the different design disciplines
- Support with development or verification of the technical scope of a project
- Support the creation and execution of design work plan and LOE
- Assist the Design Manager with managing project budget and schedule
- Take meeting minutes during interdisciplinary design coordination meetings
- Work closely with the engineering group and Design Manager to document design decisions, track and follow up on action items, and maintain other project documentation logs
- Assist in ensuring the client’s requirements including specifications and standards are integrated into the project
- Assist the design manager with project and team coordination and communications
- Assist the Design Manager and engineering design team in producing a compliant, constructible design in accordance with Client requirements, Operation and Maintenance requirements and Construction requirements

**Your Skills, Competencies and Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s (B.Sc.) degree or equivalent from a recognized college or university
- Minimum of 5 years' of broad and extensive technical, administrative and project experience
- Experience in coordinating with multi-discipline projects
- Experience with industrial/process plants, facilities, or buildings
- Experience in Water/Wastewater Treatment, Solid Waste, or Transportation Infrastructure industries, either for private or public clients, is considered an asset
- Knowledge of scheduling software and engineering, capital cost estimating techniques and various construction contracting strategy’s is an asset
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Self-motivated quick learned with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to deal with uncertainty, changing and multiple priorities
- Strong communication, teamwork, organizational skills, ability to manage a variety of tasks, and willingness to meet challenging deadlines
