**Position Purpose**:
Oversight of all activities surrounding materials management including the implementation, management and updating standard operating procedures, processes and procedures regarding Purchasing, Materials Management, Warehouse Management, Inventory Control, Receiving and Issuing of materials, the procurement process, vendor selection and JD Edwards database management.

**Key Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Oversight for the warehouse staff.
- Ensure the security, protection and accountability of all BT material within a BT controlled warehouse.
- Input, approval and maintenance of the approved supplier database.
- Management of the supplier chain.
- Management of supplier warranty.
- Oversee all purchasing activities with the support of Corp Finance to ensure compliance with policy and effective governance.
- Establishment and maintenance of optimized min/max levels in the Maximo system.
- Liaising with local QA/CI as required to ensure all levels of supplier quality assessments are identified, documented and conducted (random auditing, in process inspections, post-delivery inspections, etc).
- Supporting QA/CI with supplier or third-party investigations into failures including arranging component teardowns and finding reports.
- Management of supplier performance issues.
- Identification of more cost-effective material options liaising with the Material Solutions and Corp procurement departs to capitalize on global purchasing power.
- Leading cycle counts and annual inventory counts as per contractual requirements and Bombardier policy.
- Develop long term professional development plans for each direct report capitalizing on the Bombardier Coaching / Mentoring program in order to further develop leadership capabilities and strengths.
- Liaise closely with internal stakeholders and Key Management to ensure sufficient material is on hand to protect the operation and service.
- Participate in daily, weekly and monthly performance reviews with the “key management” team as requested.
- Participate in visual management reviews to address any key materials issues.

**Qualifications**:
A minimum of ten years of relevant procurement experience overseeing staff, warehouse activities, purchasing, vendor management, Just-in-Time delivery, cycle counts, and a material management database system. Strong understanding, knowledge and experience with purchasing policies, local, Provincial and Federal regulations and overall procurement governance is critical. Ability to interact and work closely with the Key Management team, Engineering, QA/QC, LEAN/CI, NCTD and supplier/vendors is essential.
