The Financial Management and Reporting Branch provides financial management and analysis, reporting and treasury and procurement and contracts services to allow the OSC to continue carrying out its regulatory responsibilities. Assurance over financial reporting is provided through the design and maintenance of effective controls.

The Procurement Summer Student will work closely with the Procurement and Contracts Team to provide support and assistance with administrative duties related to all aspects of the procurement and contract management life cycle.

Reporting to the Manager, Procurement, the Procurement Summer Student’s responsibilities will include:

- Supporting the development of RFx documents, evaluations, and vendor selection.
- General administration duties related to the procurement and contract management life cycle.
- Coordinating timely initiation of renewals of contracts.
- Working with internal teams to collect, catalogue and enter existing contracts into our contract database.
- Assisting in the development and reporting of key area metrics related to Procurement and Contracts.
- Filing procurement and contract documents in our records retention system.
- Providing input and recommendations on process optimization and improvements to the procurement and contracts process and conducting quality control functions, as directed.
- Assisting in the implementation of the Jira workflow for procurement Intake forms and Contract Approval Forms.
- Provide support for Third Party Risk Management
- Other duties as assigned.

What do you need to be successful in this role?
- In the process of completing an undergraduate degree in Business Administration or Commerce, with an emphasis on Strategic Sourcing / Procurement, or relevant discipline.
- Have a demonstrated interest in the field of procurement and contract management.
- Possess a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Have a strong work ethic and organizational skills to meet deadlines.
- Be internally motivated and able to work proficiently both independently and in a team environment.
- Possess excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint.)
