Mathematics Competition Coach

Toronto, Canada MPM math learning center Full time

**Responsibilities**:
**Competition Preparation**:Design and implement a comprehensive training program to prepare students for various mathematics competitions, including but not limited to math Olympiads, math leagues, and other regional/national contests.
**Curriculum Development**:Develop and enhance the curriculum to align with the specific requirements and topics covered in various mathematics competitions.
**Individualized Coaching**:Provide one-on-one coaching to students, addressing their specific strengths and weaknesses in mathematics, and tailoring the coaching approach to individual learning styles.**Group Sessions**:Conduct group coaching sessions to foster teamwork, collaboration, and peer-to-peer learning among students interested in mathematics competitions.
**Mock Competitions**:Organize and facilitate mock mathematics competitions to simulate real exam conditions, helping students build confidence and improve their time-management skills.
**Stay Informed**:Stay abreast of developments in the field of competitive mathematics and adjust coaching strategies accordingly. Keep updated on competition formats, question types, and scoring criteria.
**Motivation and Encouragement**:Inspire and motivate students to develop a love for mathematics and embrace the challenges posed by competitive math. Encourage a growth mindset and resilience in the face of problem-solving.
**Parent Communication**:Maintain open and regular communication with parents, providing updates on students' progress, competition schedules, and any additional support or resources needed.
**Networking**:Establish connections with other mathematics coaches, educators, and institutions to share best practices, resources, and opportunities for students to participate in mathematics competitions.

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: From $55.00 per hour

Expected hours: 2 - 10 per week

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- On call
- Weekends as needed
