**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
Financial Controls and Compliance
- Develop, implement and maintain financial controls to safeguard the company’s assets and ensure financial integrity
- Enforce customer credit policies and oversee credit risk management to mitigate financial liquidity
- Develop and maintain policies, procedures and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP standards o Ensure CRA compliance with filings, remittances, and legislations (corporate tax, payroll, HST)

**Financial Account Reconciliation**
- Oversee the reconciliation of all financial accounts and ensure the accuracy of corresponding files and documentation
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Prepare year-end working papers and facilitate the preparation of year-end with external accountants

**Financial Reporting**
- Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports on a bi-weekly basis for management team meetings, ensuring all stakeholders are informed of financial performance and any variances.
- Prepare and present weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial reports to the President, highlighting key financial metrics, performance trends, and strategic insights.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to guide strategic decision-making.
- Address any inquiries or concerns from the President regarding the company's financial position and performance, offering timely and accurate information to support decision making

**Financial Advisory**
- Advise the business on the financial implications of new initiatives and projects, offering guidance on cost analysis and profitability.
- Collaborate with key departments to support the company’s overall financial goals.
- Collaborate with the President to analyze financial data and provide recommendations for improving operational efficiency, profitability, and cash flow.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the President, offering valuable insights and perspectives on financial matters to drive the company's overall success.

**Risk Management**
- Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks to the company.
- Implement risk management policies and procedures to protect the company from potential liabilities.
- Review insurance coverage and make recommendations to minimize exposure to risks.
- Develop, implement, and maintain risk assessment tools to identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential risks to the organization.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, standards, and internal policies.

**Strategic Planning**
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute financial strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations to support long-term growth and sustainability.
- Conduct financial analysis to advise on strategic initiatives, investments, and growth opportunities.
- Monitor industry trends, the competitive landscape, and economic factors to identify opportunities and risks.

**Team Leadership**
- Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Set performance goals and provide ongoing feedback and development opportunities to team members.
- Promote a positive work environment that values integrity, professionalism, and innovation.
- Train and mentor accounting and financial staff, fostering a culture of professional development and continuous improvement.
- Lead cross-functional teams to implement new processes and systems effectively.

**Cash Flow and Banking Management**
- Manage and monitor cash flow, manage banking relationships, and optimize working capital.
- Oversee all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and the general ledger.

Skills: Technical Skills:

- Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Knowledge of work with security and access control systems
- Experience with safety and training management systems
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail in managing service orders and scheduling
