The Canadian Centre for Mosquito Management (c2m2.ca) is seeking experienced tree planters for a unique opportunity to join our team of Biological Technicians. If you’re seeking a change in experience from the great outdoors to the urban environment, we would love to hear from you.

**Compensation**:

- Compensation is based on a piecemeal rate of pay, therefore actual earnings can vary greatly. For the average, equivalent earnings of $18.48/hour can be expected. For the motivated, much more is achievable.

**Duration**:

- Full-time seasonal; Approximately from June 1st - August 31st, 2023

**Responsibilities**:

- Operate equipment, including motorized scooters, in a safe and efficient manner.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience planting trees in a professional capacity (skills are transferable to this position).
- Ability to operate a motorized scooter in an urban environment.
- Strong attention to detail and data collection skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work early morning hours (5am) in a seasonal, outdoor environment.

We are looking for individuals who have a passion for the environment, a strong work ethic, and experience planting trees. Opportunities are available in Toronto, York Region, Durham Region, London, and Guelph.

**Company Background**

West Nile Virus (WNV) is a mosquito-borne illness that has the potential to affect human health. It was first introduced to North America in 1999, and in 2002 the first human case of WNV infection was confirmed in Ontario. In 2004, and in response to an emerging threat, the Canadian Centre for Mosquito Management formed a partnership with Public Health Units across Southern Ontario to develop a fully integrated program of surveillance, public education, and vector management. Mosquito larviciding remains a key component of this vector management strategy, and in particular the abatement of mosquitoes in the extensive network of storm-water catch basins and in surface waters located on public properties. The Canadian Centre for Mosquito Management is a company that is dedicated to the single purpose of mosquito control. This unique focus has helped us to become one of the largest mosquito control providers in Canada.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 3 months

**Salary**: $16.12-$30.00 per hour

Flexible Language Requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- Weekend availability

Supplemental pay types:

- Bonus pay
- Retention bonus
