Sports Information Representative

**Purpose**:
The Sport Information Representative supports the full time staff in enhancing the student athlete experience and supporting a high performance team environment in Varsity Athletics. The Sport Information Assistant, under the direction of the manager, assists in the delivery of sport information requirements and the communication of information about the Lions varsity teams. This position requires commitment and adherence to the values and principles of Athletics & Recreation as expressed in the mandate of the department.

**Education**:
University degree/College diploma, or students working towards degree/diploma in sports and/or public relations field preferred.

**Experience**:
Previous writing or journalism experience and a working knowledge of OUA and U SPORTS and varsity sport experience are assets.

**Skills**:
The Sport Information Assistant must have a working knowledge of a wide variety of sports and strong written and verbal communication skills. Competency in use of Microsoft Word (formatting, typing, spelling, grammar) and online content management systems.
