Qu Biologics is a private, Phase 2 clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company located in Burnaby, BC developing Site Specific Immunomodulators (SSIs), a novel immunotherapy platform designed to restore normal immune function to reverse the immune dysregulation underlying many conditions including cancer and chronic inflammatory diseases.

The Research Technician reports to the Clinical Trial Manager.

Specific duties and responsibilities will include:

- Follow standard operating procedures to process human blood samples for the isolation of Peripheral Blood Monocytic Cells (PBMCs) and collection of plasma and serum
- Maintain accurate specimen processing and inventory records in accordance with Good Clinical Practice guidelines
- Coordinate, track, and maintain documentation for specimen shipments to external research laboratories
- Quantify cytokine levels in patient plasma by ELISA
- Order laboratory reagents and maintain equipment necessary for processing trial samples
- Communicate updates on the status of sample collection to trial staff in a clear, concise, and professional manner
- Other duties as necessary

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**
- Undergraduate degree in medical laboratory sciences or equivalent
- Biosafety and Chemical Safety Certifications
- A minimum of 1 year of practical experience working with clinical trial specimens
- Demonstrated experience isolating PBMCs and plasma from human blood
- Competency with computers and videoconferencing (Outlook, Word, Excel, Zoom)
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills, meticulous record keeping and highly organized
- Experience using statistical methods to analyze data is desirable

Please note the general work hours are Monday to Friday, (8:30 am to 5 pm) but there may be need for the occasional late evening and weekend hours, as typical in a research lab environment.

**LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS**

Fluent English

Salary commensurate with experience. Three (3) weeks annual vacation.
