**Position Summary**:
The Document Control Specialist plays a crucial role in managing all project’s related documentation, ensuring documents are recorded/filed, as well as up to date, and that proper procedures for documentation are developed and are within compliance.

**Responsibilities**:

- Establish and maintain a comprehensive document control system for ship repair and maintenance projects.
- Ensure all project-related documents, including drawings, specifications, manuals, and correspondence, are accurately recorded and filed.
- Manage version control of project documents to ensure that all team members are working with the most up-to-date information.
- Implement procedures to track changes, revisions, and approvals for project documentation.
- Distribute documents to relevant team members, contractors, and stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Facilitate the retrieval of documents as needed, ensuring quick access to critical information.
- Conduct regular reviews of project documentation to ensure compliance with quality standards, industry regulations, and client requirements.
- Collaborate with the Project Management Office, and/or other departments, to address any discrepancies or issues in the documentation.
- Provide training and support to project team members on document control procedures and best practices.
- Act as a resource for document-related queries and assist in resolving issues promptly.
- Conduct regular audits of the document control system to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Generate reports on document status, distribution, and changes for project management and quality control purposes.

**Qualifications & Experience**
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field is an asset.
- Proven experience as a Document Control Specialist in a shipyard or similar industry.
- Familiarity with ship repair and maintenance processes and documentation.
- Strong knowledge of document control best practices and industry standards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
