ITB includes the following primary business areas:

- Administration, compliance and enforcement activities under the Employer Health Tax Act, the Insurance Premium Tax Act, the Logging Tax Act, and Part 11.1 of the Forest Act (Forest Revenue Audit Program).
- Relationship management with the CRA and governance of their administration of British Columbia’s Income Tax Act revenues and various tax credit and benefit programs under the Tax Collection Agreement (TCA) between the Government of Canada and the Government of the Province of British Columbia as well as coordinating provincial efforts with the CRA to combat the underground economy.
- Leading the negotiation of various agreements with other government bodies, such as information sharing agreements, on behalf of the Revenue Division.

As a Policy Analyst, your role is unique, multifaceted and critical to the success of the Intergovernmental Relations Team in the Income Taxation Branch. The Policy Analyst is responsible for developing various information sharing agreements and service level agreements with other organizations in order to ensure the effective and efficient administration by the Revenue Division of British Columbia’s tax and benefit programs. The role provides expertise to the division on the collection, use and disclosure of information and supports the division with meeting information needs. As well, the position represents British Columbia on various federal/provincial working groups that focus on enhancing the administration and enforcement of the various taxes imposed in Canada, for example, strategic initiatives aimed at addressing the underground economy.

In addition, the position performs the role of the branch freedom of information coordinator.

The Policy Analyst role requires a confident individual possessing strong analytical and communication skills. The position collaborates with all areas of the division to support the development of initiatives to assist with the ongoing administration and enforcement of tax and tax related programs.

**Job Requirements**:
Two (2) years of experience in the following with any one of the education requirements above.
- Experience researching policy issues and conducting policy analysis.
- Experience managing projects and/or project components.

Preferred two (2) years of combined experience in the following:

- Project management leadership experience.
- Experience with interpreting complex legislation.
- Working both independently and in teams with diverse stakeholder groups.
- Experience managing client need issues, including identification, analysis, planning and implementation of options.
- Experience working with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
