**Lead Production Assistant**

Medallion Milk Co., based out of Winnipeg, Manitoba, is a family run business which has been producing quality powdered milk products since 1965. We produce Canadian milk products which taste as great as fresh milk from which they are derived. **The Lead Production Assistant role**:
Reporting to the Production Manager, as the Lead Production Assistant, you will help to organize, oversee, and direct the production process for various premium powdered milk products. You will assist in setting production priorities and ensure the production processes are performed efficiently and according to quality controls. It is also the Lead Production Assistant’s responsibility to ensure that processes conform to the GMP, SFCR, and FSSC 22000 Standards.

**Key activities**:

- Assign team stations, set expectations, and monitor staff performance

Directly manage hourly production staff by instructing, coordinating, communicating, and verifying daily activities within assigned areas
- Motivate and coach staff to improve output
- Ensure the team follows procedures on the production processes, sanitation, and food safety and quality
- Train production employees on relevant activities and tasks
- Ensure care and proper operation of all equipment in areas of responsibility
- Operate automated production line and efficiently run the production room with the team
- Follow all food safety measures as trained by Quality Assurance Manager for safe and quality products
- Complete reports such as the production sheets, daily task sheets, vitamin logs, Batch Process Checklist, Pre-operational and post-operational, etc
- Report any non-conformances or food safety situations to the Production Manager and QA Manager
- Identify and attempt to correct staff issues, discipline if needed, and flag this to the Production Manager
- Communicate cross-functionally regarding equipment failures and quality concerns
- Lead, coordinate and/or participate in continuous improvement activities
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Manager and QA Manager

**Experience**:
Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role, minimum 2 years

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Experience with production equipment, and food process background preferred

Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP

- Continually monitor production to ensure accuracy during production and ensure product outputs meet quality standards.
- Able to act quickly to identify and take corrective measures when needed
